Atomic Capital Closes ₹400 Cr Fund to Power India’s Next Consumer Giants

In a strong signal of confidence in India’s consumer economy, Mumbai-based Atomic Capital has announced the final close of its ₹400 crore debut fund. Evaluating early-stage growth companies primarily, the fund will invest in consumer, consumer-tech, and consumer-enabler brands that have found product-market fit and are poised to scale.

With average first cheque sizes of ₹10 to ₹30 crore, Atomic Capital plans to create a concentrated portfolio of 10–12 companies. More than 20 companies are being considered, and a term sheet has already been extended for a fifth transaction.

Even in the last year alone, Atomic has invested ₹50 crore in four potential startups: Conscious Chemist, Doodhvale Farms, Rio Beverages, and Anny. All of them subscribe to the firm's strategy of capital-efficient growth, controlled execution, and a keen focus on high-potential consumption categories.

What really distinguishes Atomic is its "Operating VC" approach. In addition to capital, the team lends a hand with talent acquisition, GTM planning, strategic partnerships, and financial structuring for portfolio companies. This operational breadth is underpinned by founder Apoorv Gautam's stint at Rivigo, McKinsey, Bain, and earlier VC experience.

Atomic Capital targets sectors such as F&B, personal care, apparel, home products, pet care, fintech, logistics, and omnichannel infrastructure.
