With Valentine's Day around the corner, Airbnb is seeing a thrilling change in how Indian travellers are organizing their long weekend. Rather than adhering to the classic couple-oriented breaks, more and more individuals are opting for solo travel and group breaks, with more searches for Valentine's weekend in 2025 than in the previous year.
Solo travel is actually taking flight this year, with searches rising by over 185%. Indian tourists are becoming more and more inclined to celebrate the holiday their own way, seeking independence and self-discovery. Dubai has emerged as the favourite destination among solo travellers very soon, with searches rising by 220% compared to last year. But it's not only Dubai; destinations such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Goa, and even Bangkok is on the list as well.
For couples, romance is very much alive, with searches for duos getaways up by more than 60%. Dubai leads the charge once again, but other dream destinations such as Tromso, Paris, and Goa are also in demand for couples who want to spend a special Valentine's weekend together.
Group travel is also up, with almost 40% more Valentine's weekend searches this year. It appears friends and families are opting to spend the holiday as a group, with Dubai, Mumbai, and Goa at the top of the favourite group destinations.
Whether it's an individual traveller getting a secluded place in New Delhi, a pair seeking the pampering of Dubai, or a group relaxing in a villa of their own in Goa, Airbnb is providing an array of homes to suit every kind of holiday.
It’s clear that more Indian travellers are looking for personalized experiences this Valentine’s Day, choosing destinations that reflect their individual style and preferences. With the growing demand for unique and flexible stays, Airbnb is redefining how we celebrate love, friendships, and adventures.
